Delfield, of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, makes serving systems, fabrication and cold storage: reach-ins, pizza and sandwich prep tables, worktops and undercounters, drop-ins, equipment stands, blast chillers, hot food tables and display cases. K-12, pizza and healthcare kitchens are among the segments it names, and its R290 cabinets share one control with a short, well-documented list of messages. We work on Delfield 6000XL and 6100XL reach-ins, 4400 and 4500 Series prep tables and compact units, worktops, undercounters, equipment stands, drop-in cold pans and hot food tables. On fabricated serving counters we service the refrigerated and heated wells, not the cabinetry. ### A patient alarm Delfield's control waits 90 minutes after the cabinet reaches its alarm point before it flashes HI or LO. The beeper then sounds in short bursts for 15 cycles and goes quiet, while the code stays on the display until the temperature recovers. ### Every start begins with defrost R290 Delfield units defrost as soon as power comes on, and the display can read dEF for up to 30 minutes after. Unplugging a unit to reset it only starts that cycle again. ### An energy switch for the door heat Delfield's prep units and compact units have an energy saver switch behind the front shroud that sets how long the door perimeter heater runs. If the door opening sweats, service can change that switch. ### A run-time alarm tied to the rail LEA appears when the control has called for cooling for more than 24 hours. On a cold pan rail, Delfield links it to a hot kitchen or to not switching the rail off at night. Parts Delfield publishes parts lists, parts pricing and a parts distributor locator on its own site. Controls and sensors are matched to the model and part number on the manual and data plate before ordering. Repair or replace A Delfield cabinet or prep table in good physical shape is worth repairing when a sensor, fan, heater or control fails. With a failed compressor on an older unit, or a rail whose pans no longer seal, we compare the repair with a new unit. Book your Delfield visit ## What we are called out for. The alarm sounds in short bursts for 15 cycles and then stops. The code stays on the display until the cabinet is back in range. ### Why does my Delfield read dEF after a power cut? R290 Delfield units start every power-up with a defrost. Give them up to an hour before judging the temperature. ### What should a Delfield cooler be set to? Delfield sets its coolers at mid-range to hold about 38°F. Adjust in small steps and confirm with a thermometer. ### Why is there condensation around my Delfield prep table door? The door perimeter heater may be running too little in a humid kitchen. Delfield's energy saver switch changes that and is a job for a service visit. --- **[Read on the site: Delfield Restaurant Equipment Repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/brands/delfield/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
