--- title: "Beverage-Air dOr: a door is open" description: "What dOr means on Beverage-Air dOr: a door is opens, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/beverage-air-dor/" --- # Beverage-Air dOr: a door is open The door switch tells the Beverage-Air control a door is open, and after the allowed time the display shows dOr (spelled dor in the Cross Temp alarm table). ## What dOr actually means. The door switch tells the Beverage-Air control a door is open, and after the allowed time the display shows dOr (spelled dor in the Cross Temp alarm table). It clears as soon as the door is closed. A message that stays with the door shut points to the switch, its magnet or the door's alignment. Beverage-Air commercial appliance display · also shown as dor What to do when dOr shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit. ### Usually leads to Reach-in and prep table repair Reach-ins, pass-throughs, prep tables and blast chillers: gaskets, hinges, fans, thermostats, condensers and compressors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Beverage-Air When a Beverage-Air cabinet drifts warm mid-shift, the first minutes of the visit go to where the food went and what the temperature log recorded. ### Source Beverage-Air Horizon Series HR reach-in user manual, 809-144A Listed in the 'message displayed' table of Beverage-Air's Horizon HR reach-in, SPE prep table and Cross Temp manuals (2026 editions). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Beverage-Air's own guidance for dOr on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Close the door and watch the display. 02 Check the hinge side for a sagging door and the gasket for folds. 03 If dOr stays with the door shut, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [reach-in and prep table repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/reach-in-and-prep-table-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do dOr is not a warm alarm, but a door left open long enough causes one. The Cross Temp manual lists the door alarm as always active; it cannot be switched off by the user. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems dOr tends to arrive with. Close the door and watch the display. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does my Beverage-Air show dOr with the door closed? The switch still reads open. The door may have dropped on its hinges or the switch may be worn. ### Can I turn off the door alarm on my Beverage-Air? The Cross Temp manual lists it as always active. If it trips during normal loading, ask about the delay setting. ### Does a Beverage-Air glass door model use the same dOr message? The message tables in the Horizon and prep table manuals list the same dOr line; the glass door light is a separate button. --- **[Read on the site: Beverage-Air dOr: a door is open](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/beverage-air-dor/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
