--- title: "Beverage-Air Lo: the cabinet is below its low alarm limit" description: "What Lo means on Beverage-Air Lo: the cabinet is below its low alarm limits, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/beverage-air-lo/" --- # Beverage-Air Lo: the cabinet is below its low alarm limit Lo is the low temperature alarm on the Cross Temp control. ## What Lo actually means. Lo is the low temperature alarm on the Cross Temp control. Because a Cross Temp can be set anywhere from about 40°F down to -15°F, a Lo alarm often follows a set point change: someone switched the cabinet between cooler and freezer settings without the alarm limits following. Beverage-Air commercial appliance display What to do when Lo shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit. ### Usually leads to Reach-in and prep table repair Reach-ins, pass-throughs, prep tables and blast chillers: gaskets, hinges, fans, thermostats, condensers and compressors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Beverage-Air When a Beverage-Air cabinet drifts warm mid-shift, the first minutes of the visit go to where the food went and what the temperature log recorded. ### Source Beverage-Air Cross Temp (CT) freezer/refrigerator user manual, 809-154A (rev. 02/26) Listed in the electronic controller alarms table of Beverage-Air's Cross Temp (CT) manual (rev. 02/26). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Beverage-Air's own guidance for Lo on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check the set point and ask whether anyone changed the cabinet between cooler and freezer use. 02 Look for frozen product that should not be frozen. 03 Silence the buzzer and log what you find. 04 If Lo repeats with the right set point, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [reach-in and prep table repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/reach-in-and-prep-table-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Lo is not a cooling failure; the cabinet is doing too much, not too little. On a Cross Temp, switching modes with product inside is something Beverage-Air asks you to avoid. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems Lo tends to arrive with. Check the set point and ask whether anyone changed the cabinet between cooler and freezer use. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my Beverage-Air Cross Temp show Lo after a change? If the set point was moved toward freezer use, the cabinet may be running below the alarm limit meant for cooler use. A technician can align the limits. ### Can I switch a Beverage-Air Cross Temp with food inside? Beverage-Air says to remove all product first and reload only once the cabinet has reached the new temperature. ### Does Lo on a Beverage-Air clear by itself? The alarm stops once the temperature is back above the limit, but the display holds the lowest temperature reached so you can log it. --- **[Read on the site: Beverage-Air Lo: the cabinet is below its low alarm limit](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/beverage-air-lo/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
