Blodgett's service note describes an Xcel combi that beeps, locks its door and shows WARNING and HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR during cleaning. A short menu sequence tells you which case you have: Product Cnt means the lockout has cleared, while Service Code means hot water and cleaning chemical are trapped inside and the door must not be opened by staff. Blodgett commercial appliance display · also shown as HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR, WARNING HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR What to do when HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit. ### Usually leads to Reach-in and prep table repair Reach-ins, pass-throughs, prep tables and blast chillers: gaskets, hinges, fans, thermostats, condensers and compressors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Blodgett A Blodgett visit tends to land early in the morning, before the first sheet pans go in and while the cavity is still cold. ### Source Blodgett Xcel combi oven high-limit lockout service note Blodgett Xcel combi ovens (service note on the high-limit lockout during cleaning). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Blodgett's own guidance for HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Do not force the door; hot water and cleaner can be trapped inside. 02 Follow the unlock steps in Blodgett's note: power on, hold Clean for 5 seconds, then hold P until the display changes. 03 If the display shows Product Cnt, power off, unplug for a minute, then open the door slowly and clear the drain or vent before rerunning the clean; if it shows Service Code, leave it closed and arrange service. ### Still there? Do not force the door; hot water and cleaner can be trapped inside. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why won't my Blodgett Xcel door open after cleaning? The oven locked itself after a high limit event during the clean. Follow the unlock steps and do not force the door. ### What does Service Code mean on a Blodgett Xcel lockout? Water and cleaning chemical are trapped inside, so a technician should open it. ### How do I stop the Blodgett Xcel lockout from repeating? Clear the drain, vent and drain hose before cleaning again, as Blodgett's note advises. --- **[Read on the site: Blodgett HIGH-LIMIT-ERROR: the Xcel combi locked its door during cleaning](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/blodgett-high-limit-error/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
