The unit then runs on, stops, or shuts the heat or the cooling off to protect itself. Keep logging food temperatures and note when E1 appeared. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is E1 on a Continental urgent? Less than E0, because the cabinet probe still works. Leave it too long and the coil can ice, which then warms the cabinet. ### Why did E1 appear after cleaning my Continental? A probe wire pulled or wet during cleaning can give the same error as a failed probe. The connection is the first thing checked. ### Can I start a manual defrost on a Continental with E1?
