Continental's EVCO control manual says PG appears whenever the unit powers on after a loss of power, and that it signals the control carries its program. It is a start-up notice, not a problem, and any button clears it. Continental Refrigerator commercial appliance display What to do when PG shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Mode, not a failure Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back. ### Usually leads to No repair Press any button to clear PG. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Continental Refrigerator Continental Refrigerator units in a busy kitchen get looked at with the doors shut for a while first, so the tech sees how the box recovers on its own. ### Source Continental Refrigerator operations manual, EVCO electronic control (rev. 07/22/2025) Described in Continental's EVCO electronic control operations manual (rev. 07/22/2025). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Continental Refrigerator's own guidance for PG on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Press any button to clear PG. 02 Because power was lost, probe the food and log the temperature. 03 If PG appears often without an outage you know of, book a visit to check the cord and supply. ### Cleared? The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book. ### What not to do PG does not mean the settings were lost. The program number printed under the control, starting EV3254, is what a technician checks against. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problem PG tends to arrive with. Press any button to clear PG. ### Why did my Continental show PG this morning? The control restarted after power was cut, perhaps by a breaker or a brief outage overnight. Check the food and your log. ### Does PG on a Continental mean the settings were wiped? No. The manual describes PG as confirmation that the control carries its program. ### Which Continental units have the EVCO control? Continental publishes a separate EVCO manual alongside the easy control manual; the label under the control tells you which one your unit has. --- **[Read on the site: Continental PG: the EVCO control is starting up after a power loss](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/continental-refrigerator-pg/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
