--- title: "Dexter F9: the drum did not stop within 150 seconds after spin" description: "What F9 means on Dexter F9: the drum did not stop within 150 seconds after spins, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/dexter-f9/" --- # Dexter F9: the drum did not stop within 150 seconds after spin In Dexter's 2019 reference, F9 means the drum did not stop in time. ## What F9 actually means. In Dexter's 2019 reference, F9 means the drum did not stop in time. The door stays locked until the drum has stopped. Braking resistors, their wiring and the drive's setup are Dexter's list of suspects. Dexter commercial appliance display · also shown as SPIN STOP ERROR What to do when F9 shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Motors and drives Something that should turn is not turning, or not at the speed the controller expects. A washer-extractor's drive or its inverter may stop the spin when the load is out of balance or a bearing drags, a tumbler's belt may slip so the drum barely moves, a convection or combi fan may slow on worn bearings and bake unevenly, and a dish machine's wash pump may hum without spraying. Redistributing a load, confirming the door is latched and running the machine's own test cycle are fair; a drum, a belt or a motor is a visit, and nobody reaches into a drum that could still move. ### Usually leads to Commercial laundry machine repair Coin, card and on-premise laundry machines and tumblers: door locks, bearings, inverters, burners and payment hardware. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Dexter A Dexter call in a laundromat is often set for opening time, before customers load the row and every pocket of the room is in use. ### Source Dexter common troubleshooting and error code reference for T-Series vended front-loads (Part 8533, 9/19) Dexter T-Series vended front-load machines (T-300 through T-1450) covered by Dexter's 2019 troubleshooting reference; the drive codes come from the variable frequency drive these models use. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Keep the door closed and let the drum stop on its own. 02 Write down the drive light code before any power off. 03 Book a visit; braking resistors and drive wiring are checked with meters. ### Still there? Keep the door closed and let the drum stop on its own. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why is my Dexter door locked after F9? Dexter keeps the door locked until the drum has stopped moving, which is what the error is about. ### Is F9 on a Dexter dangerous? It is protective. Never try to open the door on a moving drum. ### Why does F9 mean different things on old and new Dexter machines? The A-Series and T-Series references assign F9 differently, so the series matters. --- **[Read on the site: Dexter F9: the drum did not stop within 150 seconds after spin](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/dexter-f9/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
