On a fryer, a griddle, a combi or a gas tumbler the ordinary reasons come first: the gas valve at the unit left partly closed after cleaning, a quick-disconnect hose not fully seated, an igniter crusted with grease or lint, a flame sensor or thermopile that no longer reads the heat, or a draft from a hood or a door pulling the pilot away. It proves the draft fan is moving combustion air before the burner lights. A switch stuck closed would tell the control the fan is running when it may not be. ### Can we keep retrying ignition on E-20A? Henny Penny allows a retry with the Timer button.
