The LXn splits its control between a main board and the touchscreen. If the two stop talking, the screen shows 049. Hobart expects the link to restore itself; if it keeps dropping, the wiring between them or one of the two parts needs a technician. Hobart commercial appliance display · also shown as Error 049 What to do when 049 shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Controls and power The controller itself is reporting trouble, or the supply behind it is: a display with dead segments, a keypad that stopped responding after steam or degreaser got behind it, relays that stick, stored recipes or cycles that vanished overnight, a blown control fuse, or one leg of a three-phase feed missing so half the heat or the pump is gone. A full power cycle at the breaker, done as the manual describes, clears a passing glitch; a code that returns, a scorched smell or any sign of moisture behind the panel means the breaker stays off, and that is a visit. ### Usually leads to Commercial controls and board repair Controllers, touch panels, relays, contactors and interlocks tested, and replaced only when the evidence says so. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Hobart A Hobart dish machine that stops holding its rinse heat is usually seen right after the lunch racks clear, so the tank can drain and cool. ### Source Hobart LXn / LXGn series instructions manual F41243 (10-23), error code chart Hobart LXn and LXGn undercounter machines (LXnC, LXnH, LXnR, LXGnPR, LXGnR) with the touchscreen control, per instructions manual F41243. Each step comes from Hobart's own guidance for 049 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Wait a minute to see whether the message clears on its own. 02 Finish the current racks if the machine keeps running normally. 03 Note how often 049 appears and at what point in the cycle. 04 Book a visit if it keeps returning. ### Still there? Wait a minute to see whether the message clears on its own. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Is 049 on a Hobart serious? Once in a while it is usually harmless because the link restores itself. Frequent repeats point to a connection or part that is failing. ### Can water cause 049 on a Hobart undercounter? Moisture at a connector is one possibility a technician checks. Keep the area around the machine dry and mention any leaks when you book. ### Will turning the Hobart off and on fix 049? It may clear the message, but Hobart expects the link to recover by itself. If it needs a restart to recover, book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Hobart 049: the control board lost touch with the screen](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/hobart-049/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
