Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Check the cabinet and the rail pans with a probe thermometer and move anything above 41°F. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### How long does an HPR prep table wait before showing E1? Two hours by default. The delay can be set from none to three hours in the service menu, so a table that shows E1 quickly may simply have a shorter setting. ### Does E1 on an HPR mean the rail is warm too? Not by itself, since the alarm reads the cabinet. Check the rail pans anyway, because a dirty condenser warms both. ### Is an HPR prep table too old to repair after E1? Age alone does not decide it.
