Card-vend Huebsch tumblers show EC codes for card reader trouble. EC18 means communication was lost after the reader initialized. Huebsch's steps are a power cycle and, if it persists, replacing the control or the card reader. Huebsch commercial appliance display · also shown as EC 18 What to do when EC18 shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Controls and power The controller itself is reporting trouble, or the supply behind it is: a display with dead segments, a keypad that stopped responding after steam or degreaser got behind it, relays that stick, stored recipes or cycles that vanished overnight, a blown control fuse, or one leg of a three-phase feed missing so half the heat or the pump is gone. A full power cycle at the breaker, done as the manual describes, clears a passing glitch; a code that returns, a scorched smell or any sign of moisture behind the panel means the breaker stays off, and that is a visit. ### Usually leads to Commercial controls and board repair Controllers, touch panels, relays, contactors and interlocks tested, and replaced only when the evidence says so. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Huebsch Huebsch machines in an on-premise laundry are often visited when the housekeeping or linen team has finished its heaviest loads. ### Source Huebsch Galaxy 600 tumbler control manual 70474201ENR6 (Alliance Laundry Systems, 2023) Huebsch vended tumblers with the Galaxy 600 control covered by manual 70474201ENR6: single 25 and 30 lb and stacked 30 lb pockets in gas, steam and electric versions. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Huebsch's own guidance for EC18 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Power the pocket down and back up. 02 Try a known-good card. 03 Book a visit if EC18 comes back; the reader cable and control are checked together. ### Still there? Power the pocket down and back up. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does EC18 show on a Huebsch after a storm? Power dips can upset the reader link. A clean power cycle often restores it. ### Is EC18 on a Huebsch a card system or a machine problem? It sits between the two. The reader, its cable and the control are all suspects. ### Can customers use coins when a Huebsch shows EC18? Only if the pocket also has a coin drop. Card-only pockets are out of service until the link is restored. --- **[Read on the site: Huebsch EC18: the card reader stopped talking to the control](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/huebsch-ec18/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
