Little Giants machines offer disinfection programs for clinics, care homes and salons. If the water does not reach the program's temperature, the machine reports that the disinfection cycle was not carried out correctly, and the load cannot be counted as disinfected. Miele Professional commercial appliance display What to do when Disinfection temperature not reached shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit. ### Usually leads to Reach-in and prep table repair Reach-ins, pass-throughs, prep tables and blast chillers: gaskets, hinges, fans, thermostats, condensers and compressors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Miele Professional Miele Professional machines in a small business laundry are usually visited at the start of the day, before the first full load. ### Source Miele Professional PWM 908 Little Giants laundry machine operating and installation instructions, en-US M.-Nr. 12 805 440 (media.miele.com) Miele Professional PWM 908 Little Giants machines with electric heating and drain pump or drain valve (en-US instructions M.-Nr. 12 805 440). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele Professional's own guidance for Disinfection temperature not reached on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Treat the load as not disinfected and keep it apart from clean linen. 02 Start the program again, as Miele directs. 03 If the message returns, book a visit so the heater and temperature sensing can be tested, and note the event in your infection-control log. ### Still there? It usually turns into [reach-in and prep table repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/reach-in-and-prep-table-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do This message is about temperature, not a failed wash; the load may look clean and still not be disinfected. It is not an intake problem, although a restricted hot supply can make heating slower. ## What you may notice with it. Treat the load as not disinfected and keep it apart from clean linen. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Can we use linen after the Miele disinfection message if it smells clean? No. The machine is telling you the disinfection temperature was not reached, so the load has to be run again. ### Why would a Miele Little Giants miss its disinfection temperature? A heater, a temperature sensor or a heavily overloaded drum can all slow heating. A repeat points to a part that a technician should test. ### Should we record this message? Where your business keeps an infection-control or laundry log, yes. It shows the load was rerun and when the machine was serviced. --- **[Read on the site: Miele Professional Little Giants: disinfection temperature not reached](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/miele-professional-pwm-disinfection-temperature-not-reached/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
