The PWM 908 stops its program when it cannot empty the drum. Miele names a blocked drain filter or pump and a drain hose fixed too high as the causes, and gives a maximum drain height of about one meter. Miele Professional commercial appliance display What to do when Drainage fault shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Water, fill and drain Water is not arriving, not reaching its level, not heating or not leaving on time. A dish machine may be short of fill because a supply valve is half closed or its line strainer is clogged, it may drain slowly through a scrap basket full of debris, or its booster may be too scaled to heat the rinse; a combi's steam generator may be scaled or its water treatment exhausted; a washer-extractor may time out on a slow drain. Opening the supply valve, cleaning strainers with the unit off and checking the drain line are fair; a pump, a fill valve, a heater or a leak near wiring is a visit. ### Usually leads to Dish machine repair Undercounter, door-type and conveyor dish machines: tank heaters, boosters, wash pumps, fill and drain valves. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Miele Professional Miele Professional machines in a small business laundry are usually visited at the start of the day, before the first full load. ### Source Miele Professional PWM 908 Little Giants laundry machine operating and installation instructions, en-US M.-Nr. 12 805 440 (media.miele.com) Miele Professional PWM 908 Little Giants machines with electric heating and drain pump or drain valve (en-US instructions M.-Nr. 12 805 440). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Miele Professional's own guidance for Drainage fault on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Do not open the door with water in the drum; follow the manual's section on opening the door with a blocked drain. 02 Check the drain hose route and its height behind the machine, which must stay within the limit Miele gives. 03 Cleaning the drain filter and pump means releasing the water in the drum, so if staff have not been shown how, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [dish machine repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/dish-machine-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do This is a drain problem, not a leak; a leak shows Machine is leaking or triggers the Waterproof message. On drain-valve models the cause can be the valve rather than a pump. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems Drainage fault tends to arrive with. Do not open the door with water in the drum; follow the manual's section on opening the door with a blocked drain. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why won't the Miele Little Giants door open after a drain message? There is still water in the drum, and the door stays locked for safety. The manual has a separate procedure for opening it with a blocked drain. ### What usually blocks the drain on a Miele PWM 908 in a salon or clinic? Hair ties, coins and lint are common. Emptying pockets and using wash bags for small items keeps the drain filter clear. ### How high can the drain hose be on a Miele Little Giants? Miele gives a maximum drain height of 3 feet 3 3/8 inches, or one meter. Above that the pump may not clear the drum. --- **[Read on the site: Miele Professional Little Giants drain message: water did not pump out of the laundry machine](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/miele-professional-pwm-drain-filter-message/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
