--- title: "Randell LEA: the compressor has been running without a break" description: "What LEA means on Randell LEA: the compressor has been running without a breaks, what to check before booking, and when it is not a failure at all." url: "https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/randell-lea/" --- # Randell LEA: the compressor has been running without a break Randell describes LEA as continuous compressor runtime. ## What LEA actually means. Randell describes LEA as continuous compressor runtime. The compressor has been running without cycling off for longer than the control accepts, usually because warm air keeps getting in or the condenser cannot shed heat. Randell's actions are to inspect door and drawer sealing, clean the condenser if needed, then contact service. Randell commercial appliance display What to do when LEA shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Compressor and cooling The unit is running but not moving heat out of the box the way it should. On a walk-in that is often a condensing unit on the roof choking on cottonwood or grease, a condenser fan that stopped, an evaporator fan or defrost heater that failed so the coil iced solid, or a slow refrigerant leak; a reach-in adds a door gasket or heater that lets warm air in. Cleaning the condenser face with the power off and checking that the doors close are fair first steps; the refrigerant circuit, the compressor and every line stay with a technician. ### Usually leads to Walk-in cooler repair Walk-in coolers and freezers back to temperature: evaporators, fans, defrost, drain heaters, condensing units and doors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Randell Randell prep stations that lose temperature over the afternoon are usually visited just before the dinner setup, when the rail can be cleared. ### Source Randell 9200-290 sidemount series operator manual, PP MNL2501 rev. Each step comes from Randell's own guidance for LEA on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check that doors, drawers and rail covers close and seal fully. 02 Clean the condenser coil if it is dusty, with the power off. 03 Probe food and log it while the cause is found. 04 If LEA returns after those checks, book a visit. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do LEA on a Randell is a run-time warning, not a leak test result. A refrigerant problem is one possible cause, but only a technician can confirm it. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems LEA tends to arrive with. Check that doors, drawers and rail covers close and seal fully. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What makes a Randell compressor run nonstop? Gaps in door or drawer seals, open rail covers and a dirty condenser top the list. Each keeps the cabinet from reaching set point. ### Does LEA on a Randell mean it is out of refrigerant? Not necessarily. Randell's own first steps are the seals and the condenser. ### Will LEA on a Randell clear itself? Once the compressor manages to cycle off, the alarm has no reason to stay. If it keeps coming back, book a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Randell LEA: the compressor has been running without a break](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/randell-lea/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
