Lo is the low temperature alarm on the Danfoss control. Randell presets the control but notes that elevation, food type and the kind of kitchen may call for adjustment. A set point pushed too low to fight a warm rail can freeze product in the base. Randell commercial appliance display What to do when Lo shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Temperature and alarms The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit. ### Usually leads to Reach-in and prep table repair Reach-ins, pass-throughs, prep tables and blast chillers: gaskets, hinges, fans, thermostats, condensers and compressors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Randell Randell prep stations that lose temperature over the afternoon are usually visited just before the dinner setup, when the rail can be cleared. ### Source Randell 9200-290 sidemount series operator manual, PP MNL2501 rev. Each step comes from Randell's own guidance for Lo on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check the set point on the control; on an FX drawer, confirm whether it is meant to run as a cooler or a low-temperature drawer. 02 Look for frozen product and move it away from the air outlet. 03 If the set point is right and Lo keeps returning, book a visit. ### Still there? It usually turns into [reach-in and prep table repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/reach-in-and-prep-table-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Lo is not a sign of weak cooling. On a Randell FX drawer set anywhere between -5°F and 40°F, what counts as too cold depends on how that drawer is set. ## What you may notice with it. Check the set point on the control; on an FX drawer, confirm whether it is meant to run as a cooler or a low-temperature drawer. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why is my Randell freezing lettuce and showing Lo? The set point may have been lowered to keep the rail cold. That chills the base too much; reset it and keep the rail covered instead. ### Can a Randell FX drawer run as a cooler or a low-temperature drawer? Yes. Randell describes the FX as two cooling systems in one, from 40°F down to between -5°F and 0°F, or anywhere in between. ### Who should change the Randell set point? The operator manual shows how to adjust it from the keypad. Change it in small steps and check with a thermometer. --- **[Read on the site: Randell Lo: the cabinet is below its low alarm limit](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/randell-lo/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
