Turbo Air's M3 manual says the compressor is cycled by the board and the RD-sensor pair. r0 says the R-sensor's reading has gone to the top of the scale, which points to a short. With a bad reading here, the cabinet temperature is no longer controlled as it should be. Turbo Air commercial appliance display What to do when r0 shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Sensors and probes A probe is handing the controller a reading it cannot trust, or none at all: a box or coil sensor torn loose from its clip, a fryer probe coated in carbon from oil left too long between filterings, a combi core probe with a kinked cable, or a connector gone green from steam and cleaning chemicals. The unit then runs on, stops, or shuts the heat or the cooling off to protect itself. Letting it cool and restarting it as the manual describes is fair; a probe that still reads wrong sits behind a panel, and that is a visit. ### Usually leads to Commercial controls and board repair Controllers, touch panels, relays, contactors and interlocks tested, and replaced only when the evidence says so. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Turbo Air Turbo Air cabinets in a busy kitchen tend to get a visit between shifts, with the manager present to sign off the log. ### Source Turbo Air PCB settings service sheet (control menu and error codes), turboairinc.com resource center Read from the error code item (ER) of the control menu, opened by holding both temperature buttons until SL shows, as laid out on Turbo Air's PCB settings sheet. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Turbo Air's own guidance for r0 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Probe the food with your own thermometer, since the cabinet reading may be wrong. 02 Move product that must stay at 41°F or below if the cabinet feels warm. 03 Book a visit and quote r0. ### Still there? It usually turns into [commercial controls and board repair](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/services/commercial-controls-and-board-repair/). Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do r0 is different from d0, which concerns the D-sensor on the evaporator. A truly hot cabinet does not produce r0; the reading is out of range. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems r0 tends to arrive with. Probe the food with your own thermometer, since the cabinet reading may be wrong. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### What does r0 mean on a Turbo Air? The R-sensor reads shorted or above 100 degrees, so the control cannot trust it. ### Will my Turbo Air cool with r0? It may cool poorly or unevenly. Check the food with your own thermometer until the sensor is fixed. ### What is the RD-sensor on a Turbo Air? Turbo Air's M3 manual names the RD-sensor, together with the board, as what cycles the compressor. The r and d codes report its two parts. --- **[Read on the site: Turbo Air r0: the R-sensor reads shorted or above 100 degrees](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/turbo-air-r0/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
