Afr, log code 29, is the frost protection alarm. Victory's table shows it switches the compressor off and resets automatically. It protects the product and the coil from getting too cold, and it can point to a coil that is icing or to a control reading wrong. Victory commercial appliance display What to do when Afr shows on the commercial appliance ### Kind of code Compressor and cooling The unit is running but not moving heat out of the box the way it should. On a walk-in that is often a condensing unit on the roof choking on cottonwood or grease, a condenser fan that stopped, an evaporator fan or defrost heater that failed so the coil iced solid, or a slow refrigerant leak; a reach-in adds a door gasket or heater that lets warm air in. Cleaning the condenser face with the power off and checking that the doors close are fair first steps; the refrigerant circuit, the compressor and every line stay with a technician. ### Usually leads to Walk-in cooler repair Walk-in coolers and freezers back to temperature: evaporators, fans, defrost, drain heaters, condensing units and doors. ### Shows up as Commercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone. ### Make Victory Victory cabinets in an institutional or hotel kitchen are visited with the kitchen manager on hand to confirm the temperature log. ### Source Victory RS and RSA reach-in installation and operating instructions, 809-190A rev. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Check the product for freezing and move anything at risk. 02 Look at the coil area for heavy ice. 03 If Afr repeats, book a visit. ### Still there? Book with the code and the model number. ### What not to do Afr is not the low temperature alarm LO, though both relate to cold. It stops the compressor while it is active, so a warm cabinet can follow. ## What you may notice with it. The commercial appliance problems Afr tends to arrive with. Check the product for freezing and move anything at risk. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why did my Victory stop cooling with Afr? Frost protection switched the compressor off to stop things getting too cold. It restarts automatically. ### Is Afr on a Victory a sign of ice on the coil? It can be. A heavily iced coil and a probe reading wrong are both checked. ### Does Afr on a Victory sound the buzzer? Yes. Victory's table shows the icon, the alarm relay and the buzzer all active. --- **[Read on the site: Victory Afr: frost protection has stopped the compressor](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/error-codes/victory-afr/)** **[Book a visit with CommercialApplianceRepair.center](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/schedule/)**
