The pink Don CeSar hotel served as an Army hospital in World War II and afterward as a Veterans Administration office employing over 1,400 people until 1967. ## What St. Pete Beach does to a commercial appliance. To keep the hotel stable on shifting sand without driving costly pilings, its contractor, Carlton Beard, set it on a floating concrete pad. Roughly 46 percent of St. Pete Beach's homes were built before 1970, federal survey figures show. About 260 of the city's working residents, some 7 percent, have jobs at hotels, bars or restaurants. [All of Tampa Bay](https://commercialappliancerepair.center/locations/tampa-bay/) ### On the water Beach bars and seaside hotels track sand into dish rooms and laundries, where it wears pump seals and extractor bearings and plugs drains, so equipment by salt water has its drains and strainers cleaned on a shorter cycle. ### Seasonal houses Managers who look in on a closed seasonal kitchen can catch trouble early, such as water on the floor, a gas smell or a walk-in alarm, and if any of these turns up, nothing is switched back on before a technician's visit. ### Spare and overflow units Busy kitchens often add a second fryer, a second walk-in or an extra reach-in for peak nights, and a unit used only on weekends tends to fail on a weekend, so it earns the same maintenance schedule as the first. ## A visit in St. Pete Beach.
