What IGNITION light
actually means.

On WC4G gas convection ovens the red IGNITION light flashes while the oven is lighting and should go out once the burner is burning. If the burner fails to ignite, the light stays on. Wolf's troubleshooting ties a light still lit after three trials to no gas supply.

What to do when IGNITION light shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Wolf Commercial's own guidance for IGNITION light on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Turn the oven off with the Master Switch and wait five minutes before trying again, as Wolf directs.

02

Make sure the kitchen's gas supply to the line is on, for example after a hood suppression test or a gas shutoff; if you smell gas at any point, leave the oven off, avoid switches and flames, and get people out.

03

If the IGNITION light still stays on after three tries, turn off the oven's gas supply and book a visit; do not open gas fittings or the control panel.

What not to do

The red IGNITION light is not the white HEAT light, which simply cycles as the burner turns on and off. A slow or uneven bake with no red light points to the thermostat, fan or door seal rather than ignition.

Questions
about IGNITION light.

Can I clear IGNITION light myself?
Turn the oven off with the Master Switch and wait five minutes before trying again, as Wolf directs. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why is the red light on my Wolf convection oven staying on?
The oven tried to light its burner and did not prove a flame. The first thing to rule out is the gas supply to the oven.
How many times can we retry lighting a Wolf WC4G?
Wolf describes waiting five minutes between tries and giving it three trials. After that, turn off the gas to the oven and book a visit.
Is the flashing red light on a Wolf oven a problem?
No. It flashes while the oven is lighting. Only a light that stays on means the burner failed to ignite.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
