What E-20A
actually means.

Before lighting, the PFG 600 checks that its draft system is working. The air pressure switch should prove airflow only once the blower runs; if it already reads closed, the control will not start ignition and shows E-20A.

The unit tried to light and never proved a flame, or lit and then lost it. On a fryer, a griddle, a combi or a gas tumbler the ordinary reasons come first: the gas valve at the unit left partly closed after cleaning, a quick-disconnect hose not fully seated, an igniter crusted with grease or lint, a flame sensor or thermopile that no longer reads the heat, or a draft from a hood or a door pulling the pilot away. Checking the valve and running the reset the manual names are fair; if you smell gas, get everyone out first, and the gas valve, the sensor and every fitting stay with a technician.

What is the air pressure switch on a Henny Penny gas fryer?
It proves the draft fan is moving combustion air before the burner lights. A switch stuck closed would tell the control the fan is running when it may not be.
Can we keep retrying ignition on E-20A?
Henny Penny allows a retry with the Timer button. Repeated retries will not fix a stuck switch, so book a visit if it comes back.
Does E-20A happen on the electric Henny Penny models?
No. It applies only to gas models that use the draft fan and air switch.
