What F6
actually means.

F6, EC Temp, watches the electrical compartment rather than the cavity. The manual says F6 does not stop a cook; it warns of an air circulation problem around the controls, and the causes it lists are the same blocked side and rear intake and clogged rear fan guards that lead to F5.

What to do when F6 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from TurboChef's own guidance for F6 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Finish the current cook, then give the oven space on every side and at the back.

02

Clean the rear cooling fan guards and, on models with one, the air filter on the back panel.

03

Keep the oven away from heat sources such as a charbroiler or a fryer flue next to it.

04

If F6 repeats on a clean, well-spaced oven, book a visit before it turns into a board or magnetron failure.

Still there?

It usually turns into reach-in and prep table repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F6 does not mean the food or the cavity is too hot, and it does not end the cook the way F1, F2 and F5 do. Treat it as an early warning about cooling air rather than a stop.

Where F6 usually leads

Reach-in and prep table repair.

Reach-in, pass-through or prep table gasket, hinge, fan motor, thermostat or controller, defrost heater, leak repair or compressor · moderate.

In TurboChef's own words

F6 will not terminate a cook cycle; however, it will alert the user of a possible air circulation problem.

Questions
about F6.

Can I clear F6 myself?
Finish the current cook, then give the oven space on every side and at the back. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my TurboChef show F6 only in summer?
A hot kitchen means warmer cooling air, so an oven with borderline airflow crosses the limit on the hottest days. Cleaning the filter and fan guards and adding space usually settles it.
Can I ignore F6 on a TurboChef if food still cooks fine?
The oven lets you finish the cook, but the warning is about the electronics. Heat is what ages boards and relays, so fix the airflow before it becomes a bigger repair.
Is F6 the same on the ECO and the i5?
Yes. Both manuals name it EC Temp and give the same airflow causes and remedies.

Still showing F6?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
