What Cavity High Temp Error
actually means.

The MenuSelect control watches for runaway heat in two ways: an absolute ceiling of 565°F on gas ovens or 650°F on electric ones, and a gap of more than 150°F over the temperature you set. Either one brings Cavity High Temp Error. Unlike a probe error, this usually means heat really did overshoot, often from a gas valve or heating contactor that did not let go.

What to do when Cavity High Temp Error shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Blodgett's own guidance for Cavity High Temp Error on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Stop cooking and turn the oven off; unless smoke or flame appears, leave the door shut as it cools down.

02

If you see fire or smell burning plastic, clear the area and use the kitchen fire plan; otherwise let it cool fully.

03

Leave the oven off after cooling and arrange a service visit so the heat control parts can be checked before the next shift.

Still there?

It usually turns into reach-in and prep table repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

This is not a sensor failure message; the probe reading is believed. A separate High Temp Error reports the manual-reset high limit, which is the last safety.

Questions
about Cavity High Temp Error.

Can I clear Cavity High Temp Error myself?
Stop cooking and turn the oven off; unless smoke or flame appears, leave the door shut as it cools down. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What triggers Cavity High Temp Error on a Blodgett gas combi?
Oven air above 565°F on gas models, or 150°F over your set temperature on any model.
Is Cavity High Temp Error on a Blodgett a fire risk?
It can be, since it reports real overheating. Leave the door shut during cooldown unless there is fire, and get it inspected before the next service.
Why does my Blodgett read 150°F over the set temperature?
The heat kept going after the control asked it to stop. A stuck contactor or gas valve is a common cause and needs a technician.

Still showing Cavity High Temp Error?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
