What EAF1
actually means.

Galaxy 600 tumblers use an airflow switch to prove air is moving through the heat path. EAF1 means the switch did not open at the end of the cycle. Huebsch asks for the lint screen and ductwork to be inspected; once the error clears, the control goes back to what it was doing.

What to do when EAF1 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Huebsch's own guidance for EAF1 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Clean the lint screen fully.

02

Check the outside exhaust hood for lint or a stuck damper.

03

Book a visit if EAF1 repeats, since the switch itself may be sticking.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

EAF1 is not EAF2, where the switch never closed after the start. It also does not by itself mean there is a fire risk, although lint-choked ducts should never be ignored.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem EAF1 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about EAF1.

Can I clear EAF1 myself?
Clean the lint screen fully. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does a Huebsch show EAF1 only at the end of the cycle?
That is when the control checks that the switch opens after the air stops. A sticky switch or trapped lint can hold it closed.
Do I need to reset a Huebsch after EAF1?
Huebsch says the control returns to its previous mode once the error clears.
Can a blocked exhaust hood cause EAF1 on a Huebsch?
Lint in the duct affects how the switch behaves, which is why the manual points to ductwork first.

Still showing EAF1?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
