What E0
actually means.

Continental's easy control runs the unit from the regulation probe, a black-leaded probe placed in the return air stream. E0 says the control cannot read it: the probe may be unplugged, its wire damaged, or the probe itself failed. Without it the control cannot hold the cabinet at set point.

What to do when E0 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Continental Refrigerator's own guidance for E0 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Probe the food with your own thermometer and log it; the display is no longer reliable.

02

Move food that must stay cold to another unit if the cabinet is drifting.

03

Book a visit; the manual's first checks are the probe's terminal connection and its resistance.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E0 is not a temperature alarm, even though the cabinet may drift warm or cold. It also differs from E1, which is the red evaporator probe used for defrost.

Where E0 usually leads

Commercial controls and board repair.

Controller, touch panel, probe or sensor, relay, contactor, power supply, door switch or interlock, tested before anything is changed · moderate.

Questions
about E0.

Can I clear E0 myself?
Probe the food with your own thermometer and log it; the display is no longer reliable. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What does E0 mean on a Continental sandwich unit?
The control has lost its main probe, the black one in the return air. The unit cannot judge the cabinet temperature until the probe or its wiring is fixed.
Can a loose wire cause E0 on a Continental?
Yes. Continental's troubleshooting lists loose probe wires, a probe seated in the wrong terminal and a terminal block not fully seated before it blames the probe.
How is the E0 probe tested on a Continental?
The probe's resistance is measured and compared with the chart in the manual; about 27 kilohms at 32°F is the reference point.

Still showing E0?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
