What PREHT
actually means.
On Star Holman QCS conveyor toasters, PREHT shows right after the ON/OFF button is pressed; the elements glow while the fan and conveyor wait, and after a few minutes the display moves to the last menu item used. The RTW tortilla warmers show the same word for a preheat of about twenty minutes, during which the settings should be left alone.

No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

Each step comes from Star's own guidance for PREHT on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Leave the unit to finish its warm-up; on the QCS toaster the fan and conveyor start after about a minute and the menu appears after about four.
On an RTW tortilla warmer, wait the roughly twenty minutes Star gives and do not change temperature or speed during PREHT.
Build the warm-up into opening duties so the first orders do not wait on it.
If PREHT never clears, or the elements do not glow, book a visit so the heaters and control can be checked.
Cleared?
The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.
What not to do
PREHT is a normal start-up message and not an alarm on either product. A tortilla warmer that is still under 100°F when you check its temperature shows LOW TEMP instead.
