What Lo
actually means.

The cabinet temperature display on the FSCD shows the air temperature once it is measurable, and anything below 70°F appears as Lo. It is normal right after startup; the manual allows about 30 minutes to reach holding temperature before preheated food goes in.

What to do when Lo shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Hatco's own guidance for Lo on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Give the cabinet 30 minutes after switching on before loading food.

02

Check the set temperature and make sure the doors are closed.

03

If Lo stays after 30 minutes with the power switch on, book a visit; the manual lists a tripped high-limit, a blower motor or a heater among the causes of no hot air.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

What not to do

Lo is a reading, not an error code, and it is expected during warmup. LO H2O on humidified models is a separate prompt that asks for water.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem Lo tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

Questions
about Lo.

Can I clear Lo myself?
Give the cabinet 30 minutes after switching on before loading food.
How long should a Hatco display cabinet show Lo after startup?
Only until the air passes 70°F, which should happen well within the 30 minutes Hatco allows for warmup.
Can I load food while my Hatco cabinet reads Lo?
No. Wait until it reaches holding temperature, and only load food that is already heated to a safe temperature.
What if Lo never goes away on my Hatco FSCD?
Then the cabinet is not heating. A tripped high-limit, a blower motor or a heater can be the cause, and all of them are technician repairs.

Back to your everyday

Still showing Lo?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
