What E100
actually means.

The CTP keeps preventive maintenance timers for descaling, the water filter, cleaning, the ventless hood filter and the door gasket. E100 is called out when one expires without action. The manual asks you to open the maintenance reminder screen, do the item and reset it.

What to do when E100 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Alto-Shaam's own guidance for E100 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Open the maintenance reminder screen to see which item has timed out.

02

Do that task, such as descaling or changing the water filter, and reset its timer.

03

Book a visit if the item is one you do not handle in house, such as a worn door gasket.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

What not to do

E100 does not report a failure; the oven is asking for routine care. The maintenance codes 1001 to 1005 on the same screen name which task is due.

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

Questions
about E100.

Can I clear E100 myself?
Open the maintenance reminder screen to see which item has timed out.
Is E100 on an Alto-Shaam an actual problem?
No. It is a reminder that a scheduled task is overdue. Do the task and reset the timer.
Which tasks can trigger E100 on an Alto-Shaam CTP?
Descaling the steam generator, checking the water filter, overdue cleaning, the ventless hood filter and the door gasket check.
Why does my Alto-Shaam keep showing E100?
The timer was probably cleared without the task being reset on the reminder screen. Open the screen and reset the item once the work is done.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E100?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
