What E39
actually means.
The FQ4000 counts hours of use on the filter pad and also watches how filtration performs. When the count reaches 25 hours, or when oil returns so slowly that the pad looks clogged, it logs E39 and prompts for a new pad. Frymaster requires a new pad or paper every day, and ignoring the prompt leads to slow returns and filtration errors.

Each step comes from Frymaster's own guidance for E39 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Wait until the oil in the filter pan has cooled enough to handle safely, wearing the heat-resistant gloves your kitchen uses.
Pull the filter pan, replace the pad or paper with the rough side up, and make sure the screen, hold-down ring and O-rings are in place.
Push the pan fully back in until the controller no longer shows P, then confirm the prompt; if E39 returns with a fresh pad, book a visit.
Cleared?
The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

E39 is maintenance, not a breakdown of the fryer. If a new pad does not help and oil still returns very slowly, look at the pre-filter screen or at E42 for a clogged drain.
