What High Temp Error
actually means.

The high limit is a separate safety switch with its own manual reset. When the cavity passes 671°F, it sends a 24-volt signal to the relay board and the control shows High Temp Error. Blodgett's sheet sends the technician to three places: the heating contactor, the limit itself tripping too early, and the limit signal wire shorting.

What to do when High Temp Error shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Blodgett's own guidance for High Temp Error on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

End the cook and allow the oven to cool down, door shut.

02

Do not try to reach the high limit reset behind panels yourself.

03

Arrange a service call; the contactor, the limit and its signal wire all have to be tested before the oven heats again.

What not to do

High Temp Error is not the same as Cavity High Temp Error, which comes from the cavity probe; this one comes from the independent limit switch. It can also appear without real overheating when the limit wire shorts, which is why testing matters.

Where High Temp Error usually leads

Reach-in and prep table repair.

Reach-in, pass-through or prep table gasket, hinge, fan motor, thermostat or controller, defrost heater, leak repair or compressor · moderate.

Questions
about High Temp Error.

Can I clear High Temp Error myself?
End the cook and allow the oven to cool down, door shut. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can staff reach the manual reset on a Blodgett combi high limit?
No. It sits behind the control or service panels, which is why Blodgett's sheet is aimed at technicians. Owners should not open those panels.
Can High Temp Error on a Blodgett happen without real overheating?
Yes. A limit that trips early or a shorted signal wire can bring it, and a meter test is the only way to separate them.
What temperature trips the Blodgett high limit?
Blodgett gives 671°F in the oven cavity.

Still showing High Temp Error?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
