What MC1_HIGH_CURRENT
actually means.

The front belt motor control on a CTX measures how hard its motor is pulling. A load above the limit for 5 seconds triggers MC1_HIGH_CURRENT. The manual is unusual here: it asks the operator to clear anything jamming the conveyor before acknowledging, so a dropped pan, a folded wrapper or a bent belt link should be ruled out first.

What to do when MC1_HIGH_CURRENT shows on the commercial appliance

Kind of codeMotors and drives

Something that should turn is not turning, or not at the speed the controller expects. A washer-extractor's drive or its inverter may stop the spin when the load is out of balance or a bearing drags, a tumbler's belt may slip so the drum barely moves, a convection or combi fan may slow on worn bearings and bake unevenly, and a dish machine's wash pump may hum without spraying. Redistributing a load, confirming the door is latched and running the machine's own test cycle are fair; a drum, a belt or a motor is a visit, and nobody reaches into a drum that could still move.

A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone.

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Middleby Marshall's own guidance for MC1_HIGH_CURRENT on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let the oven cool enough to work safely at the belt ends, and look for pans, paper or food caught in the belt or at the frame.

02

Remove the obstruction without reaching into the hot heating chamber.

03

Acknowledge the message and watch the belt run a full turn.

04

If MC1_HIGH_CURRENT returns on a clear belt, book a visit; a tight chain, a dry bearing or a failing motor makes it strain.

Questions
about MC1_HIGH_CURRENT.

Can I clear MC1_HIGH_CURRENT myself?
Let the oven cool enough to work safely at the belt ends, and look for pans, paper or food caught in the belt or at the frame. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What usually jams a CTX conveyor belt?
Pans slipping off the belt edge, parchment or wrappers, and belt links bent by heavy trays. Check both ends of the conveyor before calling it a motor problem.
Why does MC1_HIGH_CURRENT come back on my CTX even with a clear belt?
Then the drag is in the drive itself, such as a bearing, the chain or the motor. That needs a visit.
Does MC2_HIGH_CURRENT on a CTX mean the same thing?
Yes, for the rear belt. The manual groups the two and gives one remedy: clear the belt, acknowledge, and get service if it repeats.
