What E SudS
actually means.

E SudS is a message about the wash, not the machine. During the spin steps the control looks for suds; when foam is still there after all of its suds routines, it shows E SudS once the door is opened at the end, for a minute or until a key is pressed.

What to do when E SudS shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Speed Queen's own guidance for E SudS on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Look at the detergent customers are using and post a sign asking for HE detergent in small amounts.

02

Run an empty rinse cycle to flush foam out of the tub.

03

If E SudS appears with normal detergent use, book a visit to have the drain and level sensor checked.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

What not to do

E SudS does not stop the cycle or lock the machine. Foam on the floor is a separate matter and points to heavy overdosing or a seal leak.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem E SudS tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

All problems

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

Questions
about E SudS.

Can I clear E SudS myself?
Look at the detergent customers are using and post a sign asking for HE detergent in small amounts.
Why do my laundromat's Speed Queens show E SudS on weekends?
Busy days bring more customers who bring their own detergent, and a heavy pour of regular soap foams far more than HE detergent.
Does E SudS on a Speed Queen mean the clothes were not rinsed?
The control extended its routines to fight the foam, but a very sudsy load can still feel soapy. Offer a rinse if a customer complains.
Do I need to reset a Speed Queen after E SudS?
No. It clears after a minute or with any key press, and the next cycle starts normally.

Still showing E SudS?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
