What F1
actually means.

F1 is the open-circuit twin of F0: the defrost sensor's reading has dropped off the bottom of the scale. A cut wire, an unplugged connector or a failed sensor all look the same to the board. Defrost then runs on time rather than coil temperature.

What to do when F1 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Turbo Air's own guidance for F1 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check whether anyone worked behind the evaporator cover or cleaned inside recently; a knocked plug gives F1.

02

Keep logging food temperatures while you wait.

03

Book a visit and quote F1.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F1 is not a sign the cabinet is too cold; no Turbo Air box reaches -50 degrees. It is a wiring or sensor problem.

Questions
about F1.

Can I clear F1 myself?
Check whether anyone worked behind the evaporator cover or cleaned inside recently; a knocked plug gives F1. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Turbo Air show F1?
The board reads the F-sensor as open. A loose plug or a damaged wire is as likely as a dead sensor.
Is F1 on a Turbo Air urgent?
Not at once, but the coil can ice up over time without proper defrost control.
How is the F-sensor tested on a Turbo Air?
The technician checks the connector and measures the sensor, then compares the reading with the actual coil temperature.

Back to your everyday

Still showing F1?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
