What S1
actually means.

Many Turbo Air models have a patented self-cleaning condenser: a small motor runs a brush up and down the coil on a schedule, once every three days by default. S1 and S2 say the brush did not close its end switch in time, so it may be jammed, the motor may be weak or a switch may be out of place.

What to do when S1 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Turbo Air's own guidance for S1 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Unplug the unit before touching the condenser area.

02

Look for a towel, carton or debris caught in the brush track.

03

Clean off heavy grease; Turbo Air notes the brush may not remove grease.

04

If S1 or S2 returns, book a visit for the cleaner motor and switches.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial laundry machine repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

S1 and S2 are not cooling failures, but a stalled brush means the condenser is no longer being cleaned. A condenser that fills with dust will soon lead to C1.

Questions
about S1.

Can I clear S1 myself?
Unplug the unit before touching the condenser area. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
What is the self-cleaning condenser on a Turbo Air?
A motorized brush that sweeps the condenser coil on a schedule. The sheet sets it to run once every three days by default.
Why does my Turbo Air show S1?
The condenser brush did not reach its switch in time. Look for something jamming the brush with the unit unplugged.
Do I still need to clean a Turbo Air self-cleaning condenser?
Turbo Air still recommends blowing the coil out with nitrogen once or twice a year, and the brush may not remove grease.

Still showing S1?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
