What uLi
actually means.

The Cross Temp control watches the supply voltage and blinks a low voltage alarm when it drops below its limit; the alarm table prints the blinking text as ulo. Low voltage makes the compressor struggle and run hot. The fix is nearly always on the building side.

What to do when uLi shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Beverage-Air's own guidance for uLi on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Plug the unit straight into its own outlet, with no extension cord.

02

Note whether other equipment on the circuit starts when the alarm appears.

03

Have an electrician check the circuit, then book a visit if the alarm returns on good voltage.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

uLi is not a failed control; it is always active on the Cross Temp and reflects the supply. The high voltage alarm, uHi, has the same first checks.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem uLi tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about uLi.

Can I clear uLi myself?
Plug the unit straight into its own outlet, with no extension cord. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Beverage-Air show a low voltage alarm at lunch?
Heavy equipment starting on the same supply can drag the voltage down. A dedicated circuit is the usual fix.
Can low voltage damage my Beverage-Air?
Repeated starts on low voltage stress the compressor, which is why the control warns you.
Why does the Beverage-Air manual show ulo and uLi?
The alarm table names the code uLi and shows the blinking text as ulo. Both are the same low voltage alarm.

Still showing uLi?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
