What E19
actually means.

When the FQ4000 calls for heat, a latch circuit and heat contactor have to close and stay closed. If that does not happen, the vat does not heat and the controller logs E19. Frymaster's troubleshooting table lists a gas valve left off, a failed controller, a failed transformer, a failed contactor or an open high-limit thermostat as causes.

What to do when E19 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Frymaster's own guidance for E19 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check that the gas valve on the fryer is in the on position and that the gas quick-disconnect behind the fryer is fully seated, without loosening any fitting.

02

Power-cycle the controller once, pausing roughly sixty seconds between off and on; Frymaster notes this message can show at startup while air clears the gas lines.

03

If HEATING FAILURE returns with gas confirmed on, shut the vat down and have the contactor, transformer and high-limit circuit tested on a visit.

What not to do

E19 is about the heat circuit not engaging; E28 is the gas burner failing to light and the ignition module locking out. A slow climb to temperature with no error is a recovery problem (E44), not E19.

Questions
about E19.

Can I clear E19 myself?
Check that the gas valve on the fryer is in the on position and that the gas quick-disconnect behind the fryer is fully seated, without loosening any fitting. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Frymaster show HEATING FAILURE right after a filter cycle?
Air can get into the gas lines at startup, and Frymaster says the message is normal in that case. If it keeps coming back once the fryer has been running, the latch circuit needs testing.
Is E19 a gas problem or an electrical one on a Frymaster?
It can be either. A closed gas valve shows up the same way as a failed contactor or transformer, which is why the gas valve is checked first.
Will a Frymaster with E19 heat at all?
Normally not on the affected vat, because the circuit that turns heat on is not holding. The other vat of a split or battery may still work.

Still showing E19?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
