What E2
actually means.

Humidified Flav-R-Savor cabinets heat a water reservoir to add moisture, and a separate sensor watches that side. E2 appears on the cabinet temperature display when that humidity sensor malfunctions. The cabinet may still hold heat, but moisture control is gone, so food can dry out or the water heater can run without proper supervision.

What to do when E2 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Hatco's own guidance for E2 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check held items for drying and move sensitive food such as breads or proteins to another unit if needed.

02

Look at the water reservoir and keep it filled as normal while you arrange service.

03

Book a visit; the humidity sensor and its connection are not owner parts.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E2 is not an empty reservoir signal; the reservoir having no water is its own condition in the troubleshooting table. It is also different from E1, which covers the air sensor.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem E2 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E2.

Can I clear E2 myself?
Check held items for drying and move sensitive food such as breads or proteins to another unit if needed. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Will food dry out in a Hatco cabinet that shows E2?
It can, because the cabinet no longer controls moisture well. Shorten hold times until the sensor is replaced.
Is it safe to keep filling the water in a Hatco cabinet with E2?
Yes, fill it as usual and do not overfill. The code concerns the sensor, not the water supply.
Why does my Hatco cabinet show E2 after deliming?
A sensor or connector disturbed or wet during cleaning can do it. When a power restart leaves it on screen, arrange service.

Still showing E2?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
