What E01
actually means.

Randell's Danfoss controls can read up to four sensors, S1 to S4, and report each failure as E01 to E04. The manual lists the same action for all four: contact service. Which sensor sits where depends on the model, so the technician checks the wiring diagram at the end of the manual.

What to do when E01 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Randell's own guidance for E01 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check food temperatures with a separate thermometer and log them.

02

Keep doors, drawers and rail covers closed to help the unit hold.

03

Book a visit and say exactly which E code shows.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

An E code is not a temperature alarm, but the control may no longer hold temperature well. It is also not caused by the door or the load.

Where E01 usually leads

Commercial controls and board repair.

Controller, touch panel, probe or sensor, relay, contactor, power supply, door switch or interlock, tested before anything is changed · moderate.

Questions
about E01.

Can I clear E01 myself?
Check food temperatures with a separate thermometer and log them. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I keep using a Randell with E01 on the display?
Only while you check the food with your own thermometer. The control has lost one of its readings.
Why does my Randell show E02 after the rail was cleaned?
Water in a connector or a wire pulled during cleaning gives the same code as a failed sensor. The technician checks the connection first.
Where are the wiring diagrams for a Randell?
Randell prints them at the end of the operator manual, which helps the technician find the sensor for each code.

Still showing E01?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
