What 057
actually means.

When the level is low at the start of a wash, the LXn tops it up automatically and shows Wash tank is filling with 057. Once the right level is reached, the wash starts without anyone pressing anything.

What to do when 057 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Hobart's own guidance for 057 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Let the machine finish filling; the wash starts on its own.

02

Check that nothing is holding the door open and that the water supply is on.

03

If 057 shows on nearly every cycle, watch for water leaving the tank between cycles.

04

Book a visit if the tank keeps losing its level, since a drain valve or pump may be letting water through.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

What not to do

057 is not a fill error like 032 or 033; it is the machine correcting a low tank. It only needs attention when it appears on almost every cycle.

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

In Hobart's own words

Wash tank is filling. Cycle will begin when water is replenished.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. Hobart LXn and LXGn undercounter machines (LXnC, LXnH, LXnR, LXGnPR, LXGnR) with the touchscreen control, per instructions manual F41243. AM16, CL and FT2000 machines use their own displays and are not covered by this chart.

Questions
about 057.

Can I clear 057 myself?
Let the machine finish filling; the wash starts on its own.
Why does my Hobart show 057 after sitting idle?
Water can drop a little in the tank while the machine sits. Topping it up at the next cycle is normal.
Do I need to press anything when a Hobart shows 057?
No. The wash starts by itself once the level is reached.
When is 057 a sign of trouble?
When it shows on almost every cycle, the tank is losing water between washes, and a technician should check the drain side.

Still showing 057?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
