What Service 41
actually means.

Some iCombi Pro functions inject water through a nozzle into the cabinet to make steam directly. Service 41 reports scale on that nozzle or its pipe. Until it is cleared, the oven will not use steam injection.

What to do when Service 41 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Rational's own guidance for Service 41 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Power the oven down and wait for the nozzle area to cool.

02

Descale the steam nozzle as the manual describes: remove it with a hex key, soak it in descaler with gloves and a mask on, rinse it, dry it and refit it.

03

If Service 41 comes back soon after descaling, book a visit and ask about your water hardness and filtering.

Still there?

It usually turns into dish machine repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

Service 41 is not about the main steam generator; that has its own care status indicator and messages. It does not stop dry heat cooking, only the steam injection function.

Where Service 41 usually leads

Dish machine repair.

Dish machine tank heater or booster element, thermostat, fill valve, float switch, drain valve, wash pump seal or motor, conveyor drive · moderate.

Questions
about Service 41.

Can I clear Service 41 myself?
Power the oven down and wait for the nozzle area to cool. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Can I clear Service 41 on a Rational myself?
The manual describes descaling the steam nozzle as an operator task with a hex key and descaler. Wear chemical gloves and a mask as Rational warns, and book a visit when the number is back within days.
Why does my Rational keep getting Service 41?
Hard water leaves scale fast. A technician can check whether the water treatment ahead of the oven suits your supply.
Does Service 41 stop my Rational from cooking?
Only steam injection is unavailable. Other cooking still works while you arrange the descaling.

Still showing Service 41?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
