What E01
actually means.

Roll-in CTP models make steam in a separate generator that fills through a solenoid valve. When the upper level probe is still dry five minutes after the valve opens, the display calls out E01. Low supply, scale on the level probe and drain parts that leak are the usual reasons the manual lists.

What to do when E01 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Alto-Shaam's own guidance for E01 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Press Start to acknowledge the code and let the oven try to recover.

02

Make sure the valve feeding the oven is open and that the kitchen's other taps run normally.

03

If E01 returns, book a visit so the level probe, fill valve and drain pump parts can be checked.

Still there?

It usually turns into dish machine repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E01 is not the lower level alarm, which the CTP shows as E51 when the probe near the bottom never sees water. It also appears only on roll-in models; table-top CTP ovens do not list it.

Questions
about E01.

Can I clear E01 myself?
Press Start to acknowledge the code and let the oven try to recover. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Alto-Shaam roll-in combi show E01 after the water was shut off?
The steam generator could not fill while the supply was closed. Open the valve fully, acknowledge the code and watch whether the next fill completes.
Can scale cause E01 on an Alto-Shaam Combitherm?
Yes. The manual names calcium on the upper level probe as one cause, because a coated probe can miss the water. Regular descaling of the steam generator helps prevent it.
Does E01 appear on table-top Alto-Shaam combis?
The manual says E01 applies only to roll-in models. Table-top owners seeing a water problem should look for other numbers, such as E105.

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
