What RUN ERR
actually means.

A healthy cabinet cycles on and off. When the Traulsen control sees the compressor run past 24 hours, it shows RUN ERR. Traulsen's own list of reasons for long run times starts with doors not closing, a dirty condenser and an iced coil.

The unit is running but not moving heat out of the box the way it should. On a walk-in that is often a condensing unit on the roof choking on cottonwood or grease, a condenser fan that stopped, an evaporator fan or defrost heater that failed so the coil iced solid, or a slow refrigerant leak; a reach-in adds a door gasket or heater that lets warm air in. Cleaning the condenser face with the power off and checking that the doors close are fair first steps; the refrigerant circuit, the compressor and every line stay with a technician.

Why is my Traulsen running all the time?
Traulsen's guide lists doors not closing, a dirty condenser or filter, and an iced evaporator coil. Check those three before anything else.

It can, but that is only one possibility. A technician rules out airflow and door problems before any work on the sealed system.
