What DOR OPN
actually means.

The door switch tells the Traulsen control when a door opens. If it stays open past the alarm delay, the display shows DOR OPN. The message helps a busy line notice a door propped open during loading or cleaning.

The controller has seen a temperature outside the band it was set for and is saying so: a box above its alarm point, a fryer vat or an oven cavity that tripped its high-limit, or a dish machine rinse that never came up to heat. Often the cause sits outside the unit, such as a door left open during a delivery, a coil packed with grease, a kitchen far hotter than the maker allows or a booster fed cold water. Checking the door, the coil and the air around the unit is fair; move the product if a cold box stays above 41°F, and book the visit.

Can I clear DOR OPN myself?
Shut every door and make sure the self-closing hinge pulls it all the way in. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Traulsen show DOR OPN with the doors shut?
The door switch still reads a door as open, often because a hinge has dropped or the switch is worn. Traulsen's newer manual lists a new door switch as the fix when the icon stays lit with the door closed.
Can staff turn off the DOR OPN alarm on a Traulsen?
The alarm key clears the message, but the door alarm itself protects your food. If it trips all day during loading, ask the technician about the delay.
Do Traulsen doors close by themselves?
Many do. Traulsen notes the self-closing feature works up to a set angle, so a door opened all the way can stay open.
