What CHt
actually means.

The condenser sheds the heat taken out of the cabinet. When it runs hot the control first warns with cht, log code 17. If it gets worse, CHt, log code 18, switches the compressor off and needs a manual reset. A dirty coil or blocked airflow is the usual cause.

What to do when CHt shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Victory's own guidance for CHt on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Unplug the unit and clean dust from the condenser coil with a brush or vacuum.

02

Clear anything blocking the vents and give the unit room to breathe.

03

Check the food, since the compressor is off with CHt.

04

If CHt returns after cleaning, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into walk-in cooler repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

CHt is not a refrigerant leak alarm; that is rSF. The lower-case cht is only a warning, and the unit keeps cooling.

Where CHt usually leads

Walk-in cooler repair.

Walk-in evaporator fan, defrost heater or drain line heater, door gasket, frame heater, expansion valve, leak repair, compressor or condensing unit · moderate to highest.

Questions
about CHt.

Can I clear CHt myself?
Unplug the unit and clean dust from the condenser coil with a brush or vacuum. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why did my Victory stop cooling with CHt?
The control switched the compressor off to protect it from a condenser that is running too hot. Clean the coil and book a visit if it returns.
What is the difference between cht and CHt on a Victory?
Lower-case cht is a warning that resets by itself; capital CHt is an alarm that stops the compressor and needs a manual reset.
How often should the condenser be cleaned on a Victory?
Victory's cleaning schedule lists a monthly inspection of the condenser coil, with cleaning as needed.

Still showing CHt?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
