What F15
actually means.

Dexter explains F15 as either an incoming supply problem or the motor acting like a generator during braking. Supply voltage, braking resistor connections and resistor values are checked, and a high-leg 240 V supply gets special attention.

What to do when F15 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Dexter's own guidance for F15 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Note whether other equipment in the store flickers or trips.

02

Power down for three minutes and try again.

03

Book a visit if F15 returns; supply and resistor checks need meters at the panel.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

F15 is not a low-voltage condition; F19 covers that. It does not mean the building wiring is unsafe, but an electrician may be needed if the supply is out of range.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem F15 tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about F15.

Can I clear F15 myself?
Note whether other equipment in the store flickers or trips. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does Dexter mention high-leg 240 V for F15?
Some buildings have a high-leg supply that can push the drive's voltage up. Dexter suggests surge suppression or filtering in that case.
Can braking resistors cause F15 on a Dexter?
Yes. If they do not absorb braking energy, voltage builds up in the drive.
Should I call an electrician for F15 on a Dexter?
If the incoming voltage is out of range, yes. Otherwise the machine-side checks come first.

Still showing F15?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
