What Intake
actually means.

Miele links Intake to a partly closed faucet, a blocked inlet filter, a connection pressure under 7.25 psi, or a drain connection set too low. A closed faucet alone can show the separate message Open water supply.

What to do when Intake shows on the commercial appliance

Kind of codeWater, fill and drain

Water is not arriving, not reaching its level, not heating or not leaving on time. A dish machine may be short of fill because a supply valve is half closed or its line strainer is clogged, it may drain slowly through a scrap basket full of debris, or its booster may be too scaled to heat the rinse; a combi's steam generator may be scaled or its water treatment exhausted; a washer-extractor may time out on a slow drain. Opening the supply valve, cleaning strainers with the unit off and checking the drain line are fair; a pump, a fill valve, a heater or a leak near wiring is a visit.

Shows up asCommercial Appliance Error Code on a Combi, Fryer, Dish Machine or Laundry Display

A commercial appliance error code appears as letters or numbers on a combi, fryer, reach-in controller, dish machine or laundry machine display, or as a flashing light or an alarm tone.

in this order.

01

Turn the machine off, then open the water-supply faucet all the way and start the program again.

02

Clean the water-inlet filter as described under Cleaning and care.

03

If Intake keeps returning, have the water pressure and the drain connection height checked, and book a visit.

What not to do

Intake is a supply problem, not the technical F18 that shares the same section of the manual. It is also not a drainage message, which reads Drain.

Where Intake usually leads

Dish machine repair.

Dish machine tank heater or booster element, thermostat, fill valve, float switch, drain valve, wash pump seal or motor, conveyor drive · moderate.

Questions
about Intake.

Can I clear Intake myself?
Turn the machine off, then open the water-supply faucet all the way and start the program again. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does our Miele Professional show Intake after plumbing work?
A faucet left partly closed or debris loosened into the inlet filter are both common after work on the lines. Open the faucet fully and clean the filter.
What water pressure does a Miele Professional PFD need?
The manual flags pressure lower than 7.25 psi as a cause of the Intake message. A plumber can measure it at the connection.
Can the drain hose cause an Intake message?
Yes. Miele notes a drain connection set too low can be behind it, and says the drain may need raising.

Still showing Intake?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
