What Ed1
actually means.

The Carel control ends defrost when the coil is clear or when a time limit passes. Ed1, log code 10, says the time limit came first. Ed2 is the same message for a second evaporator. Neither sounds the buzzer and both reset automatically.

What to do when Ed1 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Victory's own guidance for Ed1 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Note how often Ed1 appears over a few days.

02

Check the coil area for heavy frost or ice.

03

Keep doors and gaskets tight, since moist air adds frost.

04

If Ed1 repeats on most defrosts, book a visit.

Cleared?

The code is gone from the controller, the box pulls down to its set point and holds it, the vat or the cavity reaches temperature and recovers on schedule, the rinse hits its heat and the drum finishes its spin, all without a new part. If the same code comes back within a week, or during the next busy shift, mention it when you book.

What not to do

Ed1 once is not a problem and does not stop cooling. Repeated Ed1 with ice on the coil points to a defrost heater, the coil probe or the drain.

No repair indicated

Nothing to repair.

Nothing on the unit has broken; the controller is reporting a state it chose or one somebody set. A defrost pauses cooling for a scheduled melt and shows a warmer air reading for a while, a combi asks for a delime or runs its clean cycle and locks the door until it ends, a dish machine or a laundry machine sits in energy save between busy periods, and a door-open reminder beeps after a long delivery. No part is needed: letting the cycle finish, or the key sequence in the manual, brings the unit back.

Questions
about Ed1.

Can I clear Ed1 myself?
Note how often Ed1 appears over a few days.
Should I worry about one Ed1 on my Victory?
No. One after a day of heavy door openings is normal. A pattern is what matters.
What is Ed2 on a Victory?
The same message for a second evaporator, on units that have one.
How do I start a defrost on a Victory?
Victory manuals describe a defrost button on the control for a manual defrost. Use it only if frost is visible.

Still showing Ed1?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
