What HI
actually means.

Victory's current reach-ins and warming cabinets use a Carel control that logs alarms by number. HI, log code 24, means the cabinet has gone above its high limit. It resets by itself once the temperature returns. On a Victory warming cabinet the high alarm means too much heat, which dries and overcooks held food.

What to do when HI shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Victory's own guidance for HI on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Probe the food and log the reading and the time.

02

On a cold cabinet, close doors and clear the vents; move food above 41°F to a unit that is holding.

03

Open the alarm log from the keypad, or the Carel Applica app, to see when HI started.

04

If HI returns with the doors closed, book a visit.

Still there?

It usually turns into reach-in and prep table repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

HI is not HA; HA is a HACCP record of a warm spell during operation, kept until someone clears it. On Victory ACRS air curtain units the same kind of alarm shows as AH1 on a different control.

Every code on this site is taken from the manufacturer's documentation, never from a forum or a parts listing. From the alarm code table of the Carel control in Victory's RS/RSA reach-in manual (809-190A rev. H, 2026); the HS/HIS warming cabinet manual carries the same table. ACRS air curtain units use AH1 and AL1 instead.

Questions
about HI.

Can I clear HI myself?
Probe the food and log the reading and the time. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
How do I see when the HI alarm started on my Victory?
Hold the parameter button for three seconds, press the alarm log button and scroll with the arrows. The Carel Applica app also shows live alarms and a history.
Does HI on a Victory warming cabinet mean the same thing?
It is the same alarm on the same control, but on a warming cabinet it means the cabinet is running hotter than its limit.
Will HI on a Victory clear by itself?
Yes, Victory lists its reset as automatic. The log keeps the record, which helps a technician see how often it happens.

Still showing HI?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
