What E1
actually means.

The Carel control on Victory reach-ins and warming cabinets can read up to seven probes. E1 to E5 match probes 1 to 5, and E6 and E7 are the S1H and S2H probes. Victory's table marks these with no icon, relay or buzzer, and they reset on their own when the probe reads again. What happens next depends on the job that probe was doing.

What to do when E1 shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from Victory's own guidance for E1 on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Note the exact E number and when it appeared.

02

Check food temperatures with a separate thermometer.

03

Book a visit; the technician matches the number to the probe on your model.

Still there?

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

An E number alone does not mean the cabinet is warm, and it is not rE, which is the control probe and changes how the compressor runs. Victory ACRS air curtain units use E1 and E2 for probes Pb1 and Pb2 on a different control.

Questions
about E1.

Can I clear E1 myself?
Note the exact E number and when it appeared. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does my Victory show E2 but no alarm sound?
Victory's table sets the probe messages to show without the buzzer. Check the display after cleaning or service.
Is E1 on a Victory urgent?
It depends on the probe. If the cabinet temperature stays right, it can wait for a visit; if it drifts, act the same day.
Can a Victory probe come loose during cleaning?
Yes. A pulled or wet connector gives the same message as a failed probe, which is why connections are checked first.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E1?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
