What E dL
actually means.

UniMac's door lock error covers both ends of a cycle. At the start it asks for the door to lock the moment it is shut; at the end it expects the lock to release within five seconds. The manual's first step is to open and close the door again.

What to do when E dL shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from UniMac's own guidance for E dL on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Open the door, check the gasket and latch area for caught linen, and close it firmly.

02

Power the machine down and retry, as UniMac suggests.

03

If E dL returns, take the machine out of service and book a visit for the lock.

It usually turns into commercial controls and board repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E dL is not E do, which means the control saw the door open while locked. A door that stays locked because the cylinder still holds water is also not a lock failure.

What you may
notice with it.

Questions
about E dL.

Can I clear E dL myself?
Open the door, check the gasket and latch area for caught linen, and close it firmly. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why is a UniMac door still locked after the cycle ended?
If the lock does not release within five seconds, the control shows E dL. Power the machine down and retry once before calling it a failure.
Can linen in the door cause E dL on a UniMac?
Yes. A towel corner caught at the latch stops the lock from seating, which is why the first step is reopening and closing the door.
Is it safe to force a UniMac door open after E dL?
No. Forcing it can break the lock and expose a cylinder that may still be turning or full.

Still showing E dL?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
