What E FL
actually means.

On a UniMac UW extractor, E FL ends the cycle when any fill step runs longer than allowed. Hotel and care-home laundries often see it when a shared hot water system is drawn down during a heavy morning run.

What to do when E FL shows on the commercial appliance

Before you book,
in this order.

Each step comes from UniMac's own guidance for E FL on its commercial appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.

01

Check the hot and cold supply valves and any in-line strainers feeding the machine.

02

Power the machine down to clear E FL, as UniMac directs, and start a test cycle.

03

If the fill is still slow with good building pressure, book a visit to check the fill valves.

It usually turns into dish machine repair. Book with the code and the model number.

What not to do

E FL on a UniMac does not report a leak; the leak test messages are E LF and E Ld. It also does not mean the drain is open, although a drain valve that fails to close can slow a fill.

What you may
notice with it.

The commercial appliance problem E FL tends to arrive with. Answer these at the commercial appliance before anyone is booked.

Questions
about E FL.

Can I clear E FL myself?
Check the hot and cold supply valves and any in-line strainers feeding the machine. If it comes back, it needs a visit.
Why does a UniMac extractor show E FL only during the morning rush?
Several machines and the kitchen draw hot water at once, and pressure drops below what the fill needs in time. Staggering starts often cures it.
Does E FL end the whole cycle on a UniMac?
Yes. The control ends the cycle, so the load has to be restarted after the machine is powered down.
Can the E FL time limit be changed on a UniMac?
The owner menu can switch the fill check on or off and the time is adjustable, but a longer limit hides a slow valve rather than fixing it.

Back to your everyday

Still showing E FL?

A booking with a code goes further when it has the code as shown, the model and serial from the data plate, and a word on whether the unit still holds temperature, heats, rinses or spins. With those three, the office can match the likely part to your unit the same day.
